Some one's house burnt down on Veterans Way half way between Hy 340 and 110 bypass BBQ set the front deck on fire then it went from there. No fire trucks for the first 40 minutes !

must of tried to put it out themselves before calling for the fire department.

Kind of an unfair assumption to make? Were you there?  
 
 
Takes only minutes for a fire to get out of control, especially with the winds we have had recently.

When and where did this house fire occur?

grass fire sometime over the weekend? Read and seen pictures on FB about a grass fire but the hoe was not burned down?

It was the house right at Chater corner.

There’s been several grass fires and structure fire here in Brandon and surrounding area within the last few days. There was a house fire on baker bay, a garage fire on 4th street, a large grass fire at Camp Hughes, another fire in the area during the same time, a fire at the Discovery Center, a house fire on Veterans Way, a grass fire south of Brandon last night. I’m sure there has also been other fires too.

The house that was lost was 1.5 miles east of the Chater corner.
