The Province has done Tuesday's Covid data update. Below is a comparison of the previous update.
HOSPITALIZATION DATA
PMH Active Hospitalizations: 47 (+4)
PMH Total Hospitalizations: 55 (+3)
PMH Active ICU Patients: 4 (+2)
PMH Total ICU Patients: 5 (+2)
MB Active Hospitalizations: 381 (+40)
MB Total Hospitalizations: 418 (+40)
MB Active ICU Patients: 41 (+3)
MB Total ICU Patients: 42 (+3)
47 active hospitalizations by my recording represents a pandemic high for PMH
CBC is reporting that 418 represents a new pandemic high for Manitoba since the hospitalization number has been reported.
CASE DASHBOARD DATA
Case numbers said to under-report real cases.
With the shift away from PCR tests in many cases, another level of complexity is involved in how to interpret case numbers and make relative comparisons... though am including them below for those who find value.
For those still following the active and recovery data with the requisite grain of salt, it was mentioned in a previous discussion that the recovery number has not been going up for the past couple of weeks while the active number has. With us now being more than a couple of weeks into this significant spike in Covid cases during the Omicron wave, I would not be surprised in the coming days to see recovery data updated to reflect a more current active-recovery balance.
Brandon total cases: 3890 (+87)
Brandon active cases: 1902 (+88)
Brandon recoveries: 1962 (-1)
Brandon deaths: 26 (no change)
PMH total cases: 8893 (+166)
PMH active cases: 3330 (+167)
PMH recoveries: 5452 (-1)
PMH Deaths: 111 (no change)
By age and gender, the breakdown in new dashboard cases for PMH versus prev update is as follows. Continuing to include this data under the assumption that shear case numbers will be higher, but the relative numbers from one age bracket to another may continue to be of value.
90-99: +2 female
80-89: +3 female, +1 male
70-79: +2 female, +1 male
60-69: +8 female, +4 male
50-59: +8 female, +10 male
40-49: +9 female, +11 male
30-39: +12 female, +12 male
20-29: +23 female, +14 male
10-19: +15 female, +4 male
0-9: +14 female, +14 male
