Frito Lay and Loblaws are in a pricing fight.  
 
Frito Lay has stopped all delivery to their stores which i:nclude Super store.  
 
They make Loblaws chips and a whole bunch of other great treats under their name and probably Loblaws as well.  
 
Bets on who wins the war!  
 
Both huge corporations might be anyone guess.  
 
Public outcry for the President Choice chips may make the difference.  
 
Start a protest. Chips are a very important Canadian staple.

Don’t know who wins but I’ll tell you who loses, the consumer that ultimately pays the price increase and the primary producer or grower who receives a fraction of that final retail price.  
The truth is though that large retail groups have been using their power and squeezing their suppliers excessively for decades now and that business model is coming to an end as different factors join together causing sustained inflationary increases . This will likely get worse in coming years as increasing carbon tax and interest rates factor in on top, climate change may bring price increases too if production becomes further disrupted. It may though have the benefit of encouraging the consumer to buy less prepared and processed unhealthy junk food, snacks, soft drinks and alcohol.  
If more people can learn to prepare their own meals at home from raw product then we will likely all live healthier and be a little better off.

I don’t even like chips.  
 
After all the serious stuff these last few weeks I found this battle between supplier and retail funny.  
 
Like unimportant funny.  
 
Oh well always someone who wants to turn everything into an argument rather than a laugh.

It isn’t funny or a laugh is it? This is people’s lives and the livelihoods of producers that you are talking about, it’s serious stuff with serious implications. Maybe if more people followed and treated important news events more seriously instead of making light of the situation then we would all be better off.

I wouldn't get all twisted over chips either BUT this must be going on with all kinds of other product and that is where we should all be paying attention. Unfortunately it seems the consumer has little influence, because companies know we'll be upset "for awhile" and in the end we'll move on.  
Remember when auto recalls was a big deal ,now we kind of expect it.

I'd surely be reaching out to Bob Loblaw on the phone.  
 
Just be sure you repeat his name 3 times before for practice and good measure.

Without being able to find humour all of us would fall down further into despair. As myself has done.  
 
The fights between companies happens all the time when contract time comes up but usually kept between themselves.  
 
That’s why you may go in a store and empty shelves for a product you usually buy there.  
 
What I pictured was all those chip lovers out there running to Loblaws stores and filling up cart after cart with chips…..  
 
Or fighting over the last bag of chips on the shelf.  
 
Had to find something to laugh at with all the serious things happening in Canada and the world.

I get that you're trying to inject humour (because it *is* kinda funny), but the larger picture is actually much darker and we're ultimately going to pay the price.
