I was wondering if anyone could tell me how often or even when Crocus hockey practices and plays. What is the cost to play high school hockey? My son is aging out of Bantam and looking at playing next year for his school. Even some info on how things went this year would give me an idea. Thank you so much!

Why not call Crocus and ask them? You have waited a day for a response when your question could have been answered already.

It always blows my how many people just neglect to go to the source for their information.

I feel bad for people who come on here wanting to hear from the folks of Brandon only to get. “Why would you come here to ask?” “Why don’t you phone here or there”. The op just wanted some real world advice from others directly involved. What’s the program like? Is it worth trying out? How hard is it to get on? What’s the quality of play?How often do they play/practice? These are questions some receptionist on the phone can’t answer or isn’t sure who to pass you on to.

Where did you get all these questions from? All they asked was how much it costs and when the games/practices are.  
Quite sure the school is the best place to ask as even one of the coaching may have been able to return the call.

The op also had the option to ask more questions depending on the responses should someone knowledgeable respond.  
 
Honestly the negativity on this forum drives me nuts.

This year it was $1500 but I’d expect it to go up next year. Tuesday and Thursday were on ice practice and Wednesday was dry land training. Typically 1-2 games a weekend but the odd weekend had 3.  
 
Other option would be one more year of BYHA as an overage but not a guarantee.

Expect aprox 35-38 games a year. Travel is also a big consideration ( especially with gas prices climbing). Travel as far southwest as Melita/ Pierson, North as far as Swan River, and North-east as far as Sandy Bay, Dauphin, McCreary.

I really appreciate the information. I am just a mom who was looking for a bit of advice from other parents. I’m just trying to keep some doors open for the upcoming year. Hockey is a passion! Have a great day!
