From 18 th and Victoria to Canadian Tire is by far the worst stretch of road I’ve ever driven . The pot holes are everywhere and they are like basements. They will snap axels and flatten tires in an instant. Trying to dodge them is hopeless as there are just too many. I for one will take any other route I can to get to my destination. Is it to early to fix them? Maybe they will have to re- pave the whole street. After all these years pavement doesn’t seem to be to durable. Time for some other new method maybe.

A car was very close to getting real ended by DQ This afternoon  
Slowed down to go thru the potholes at the intersection, which is a real mess and car behind them was sliding to stop

18th St North from the CO-OP gas station to Corral Centre are full of deep pot holes in both of the north bound lanes, bad on south bound as well but it doesn't feel like you're going to get in an accident on that side

Its atrocious and I think I actually ran a red or maybe just a very late yellow the other day I was so focused on avoiding a huge pot hole, not safe in a multitude of ways.  
 
Yet not too many pot hole crews out yet that I've seen,granted weather has been bad but there was a crew out washing rocks in the rain the other day , go figure, priorities I suppose.  
 
I wonder about the feasibility of a night time pot hole crew, lots less traffic out, and if you have a blocker truck behind and asphalt truck ahead it would probably make it a lot safer, day or night.  
 
I also wonder if a small plate packer was used instead of just smacking the fill with a shovel and also letting the asphalt cool longer before cars are allowed on it would help longterm or not ?

What it amuses me is that if our vehicles are not “safe” for the roads Mpi won’t let you drive it until you spend a lot of money fixing it but the roads are not safe for our vehicles and drivers so I don’t see them lowering insurance prices or doing anything about it.

I move over a few inches and ghat way miss the unending crack and potholes that seem to run down 18th and most other main streets. Except for a few bigger potholes-there were some a few places on the south end of 18th and now one patch on Kirkaldy eastbound-I haven't had any trouble with potholes. I admit it does help to be running on offroad tires and a vehicle built for rock climbing.

That is because a driver is supposed to observe road conditions and drive accordingly.

The province and city were both out today patching potholes on 18th Street. The streets are a bit smother now
