This is a local discussion forum. People ask local questions here, people often answer them. Through that process others who might be curious also learn that answer. The exchange is also indexed in search engines, further helping others find answers to the same question over time. One of the pretty special things about the site is it's a living, breathing archive that has among other things 17 years of questions and answers.
