Good evening, I just need to bring up that Brandon needs more group housing options for people with severe mental illness but with no intellectual disability, as a person like this just thought I’d rant my frustration on here, ever since Meredith Place closed it’s extremely difficult to find anything, I’m severely depressed living by myself now. Meredith Place is supposed to reopen at some point but do not know when that will be, will still be a bit from now.

There's housing stock they could put in place for low income ppl, they don't use it anc some say it's going to get sold off to reduce the total units available.  
 
It's an artificial supply crunch and the government knows its going to create higher rates of homelessness. It should be illegal what they are doing, but it's just how they try to force rents up across the board.  
 
Economic darwinism.  
 
Everyone is going to regret the conservatives stripping public housing stock during a pandemic, but you have to realize these people don't give a crap about social services. It will show up in the homelessness stats.  
 
Ps Meredith place wasn't meant to be a group home. It was a half way house and homeless shelter, not a permanent residence. They don't house ppl long term, which is increasingly the mindset of a lot of social service agencies:  
'Take care of you own affairs.'
