Hello, anyone have a suggestion and experience with a local company that can do septic field inspections? With all of this lousy precipitation we've had this year, I've had a heck of a battle with my field and I need to know if there is anyone local who can do an inspection to see if the field is full, or if I have any outstanding issues that I need to fix. Already replaced the pump and fittings, so my next move is an inspection, but with no real access to the field, I'm hoping someone out there has better equipment that can take a look.

What problem are you having, when was the field installed, how far from the home, what size field?

Honestly, not sure of any of the info. We've tried through the water conservation stewardship to find any info, but unfortunately, the actual location of our property has somehow changed so much with the address over the years and with different owners, we've had no luck narrowing down the info on it, which is a huge problem. The field, from what we've heard, is about 30-40 yards upstream from the house, potentially, but no idea in size. I'm hoping I can find an installer who has the right equipment to find the field and hopefully if they have lengthy camera equipment, find out how the 'guts' of it are looking. With all of this precipitation, I have a backflow of water coming back at my house(just installed a check valve to stop backflow into the 'pillbox", but I need to know if this indeed from ground saturation, or another issue I'm facing.

I would love this info as well as our property in Brandon is on septic and we have no idea where the field is!  
 
We called the same people above and were told that they have no record of the septic tank at our address.  
 
We are all told by people that thr field is where the most lush thickest grass is, but thats at the front of the house on a hill, doesnt seem correct.

Heard the same advice on 'the greenest part of the yard', but to be honest, depending on the grading of your property, there can be many areas. For us, we see green areas next to our garden, but it is also in a low lying area with good moisture buildup, and there is no way anyone with proper field experience would place a septic field within that close of proximity to a house and a garden, so I'm not always convinced on greener areas of grass. It's definitely a challenge when records are not kept from owner to owner. I feel your pain!

you have tried planning department, although it may have been installed before records were required.  
Sound like you are going to need something that will give off a radio type signal when inserted and fed through your pump out. This then being picked up with a receiver overground.  
You could try a can of plumbers dye into the system on the outward line and see if it comes to the surface anywhere.  
Short of any other suggestions a licenced installer would be next.

Have you made any progress on your problem?

Not sure exactly what they could do but Lockhart Plumbing are the go to guys for septic fields.
