Seal broke and window has humidity inside. Has anyone ever just had the glass replaced instead of the entire window? How long did it last? Pros and cons?

Give them a call, have some rough measurements for the window on hand if you can. I had the same issue with a casement window in our old house, I removed it and brought it to them, they measured and ordered the glass then let me reinstall it until the glass came in (it was a good month or more). It was a lot cheaper than replacing the whole window unit, but the cost would obviously go up if they have to come to your house to do it for you.

Did two windows for us with just the glass inserts being changed. Quite happy with them.

I thought you have to replace the sealed unit not only the one glass.  
I had a window with only one glass of 2 pane window was cracked and they changed the whole sealed unit . This is what they said. Did they told me wrong?

Told you right. That’s what the people here are talking about, the sealed unit. Instead of replacing the whole window with the frame.

A single pane can be taken out and replaced, the seals can all be replaced as well. A couple of window panes were replaced in this way when they cracked under warranty at my parents house and they have been fine since. Of course by repairing in this way the cavity will not be gas filled any longer . They can replace seals, glass and all of the open/close hardware if the frame is sound. You just have to weigh the cost against a replacement window but replacing a pane or seals is likely viable enough.
