City added this update to the notice: “Update as of 9:30 a.m.: City crews have located the exact location of the water main break. They are currently working on a solution to isolate the issue and restore pressure to much of the affected areas in the City. Updates will continue to be provided as information becomes available.”
Here’s the city media release on the advisory. I’m glad someone posted it here, I haven’t been on social media today. If this is your first rodeo like it is mine, the press release mentions the following for the affected area: “ Until further notice, all water used for consumption in the affected area should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used for: - Drinking and ice making - Preparing beverages, such as infant formula - Preparing food, including washing fruits and vegetables - Brushing teeth” Please read the whole notice at: https://www.brandon.ca/public-notices-details?var=6397
Interestingly Linden Lanes spray park still going. Don’t have all the facts, but I’m going to guess that there are a lot of instances involving water at a spray park that aren’t a whole lot different than brushing your teeth? Had to reconsider a drink purchase this PM knowing that the drink would use ice and that water would've been involved at some point. Might try later but will double check that it’s made with boiled or otherwise pure water!
