    No it’s not safe at this time of year and anyone that says it’s good has a death wish. One the city just issued a high water level advisory. Plus you’ve got ice and trees falling in the river.

    With the ice breaking up right now you would probably last 30 second before you would be a goner under that ice.

    you need to be confident, careful, and experienced. It's really no more dangerous than driving down 18th St these days.

    Should something go wrong and the worst should happen, you wouldn't be the first to be taken by the Assiniboine River in a boating incident. The river at this time of year is fast and unpredictable.  
     
    Probably best to be sure your affairs are in order.
