    What’s everyone’s thoughts on smart thermostats, such as Ecobee? Are they useful? Easy to use?

    We have a Nest thermostat that we can control through Google Home. It works great and is perfect for my mobility challenged room mate as she can just tell the thermostat to change rather than having to get up.

    None of them are easy to use. They make them so they do so many things it’s onerous to navigate. We went with a Sensi mostly for the wifi ability’s. Got a rebate from Hydro too.

    We have the ecobee and I thought it was unnecessary to have the ability to control it from your phone. But it’s actually awesome.  
    And we bought extra sensors so the days/times my wife is in her office the temperature adjusts to that room. There is a ton of other features on there, but what sold us is that it can reduce energy costs when used with the new furnace.

    I heard good things about Ecobee smart thermostat. All I want is the ability to control my temperature from outside my house, for example, while I’m on holidays.  
    There are so many Ecobee models to choose from. I don’t need the sensors to detect people.
