this is a long story but I lived in Germany 14 years and had a son over there and he came back to Canada with me  
and his dad stopped paying when he was 10 years old.  
the lawyer I had in Germany had a heart attack and passed away then my ex found out and stopped paying.  
this is a problem as I was paying the lawyer over there in Germany,every time he was late paying or whatever. he owes my son from the time he was 10 years old till he was 24,as German law states as long as the child is still in school he gets child support.  
he is owed now for 14 years of child support,and I cannot help as he is an adult now.when I did try before I was told I needed a lawyer here and a lawyer in Germany. this man is the highest rank in the German army and will be retiring in 3years. I have it all on paper how much he is to pay according to German courthouse.with the divorce papers. I have been told by some people that he wont get the money now as its too long ago.  
what can my son do to get this all back??

I would contact a good German lawyer that you can trust. Getting a lawyer this side might not help you too much…. Try and see what a Laywer that side will say.

There is a legal firm that has been an eBrandon supporter and advertiser on this venue for many many years. They are also one of the best firms in Brandon for advice about a situation like yours. Enquire about a first consult for free and spend 20 minutes with them. I fear two things, 1 laws in Germany differ from our laws, especially family law, and without some kind of reciprocal agreement between countries you may be SOL. Also, Canadian law dictates you can't deprive a parent (regardless of what happened) of contact with a child by moving to another country. If Germany has something similar as far as the law is concerned, you may put yourself at risk of problems. But please, please talk to a lawyer first.
