Morning people of Brandon! I am wondering how I can get something from the states when the company doesn’t ship to Canada. I see websites that will give you a us address and then they ship it here for you but I’m not sure if they are legitimate. Anyone know of a trustworthy company that does this(it’s a fishing rod that I am trying to order for a Christmas gift).

They are just south of Boissevain border crossing. You can have stuff shipped there and then slip across and pick up. Make sure you have receipts when you go as you will need at border

When I lived closer to Winnipeg I would order stuff to menkes parcel in neche not sure about out here though sorry

You can have it shipped to border services then if you or someone you know has a passport you can grab it, it’s just south of the boissevain border crossing. Or another option is to have it shipped to a shipping depot in Pembina, ND. and there is a company called runnin red who will pick it up and get it to their warehouse in Winnipeg. I’ve done both ways and they are both great to deal with.

As per other comments, Border Services at Dunseith is a professional choice at a very reasonable handling charge.  
 
Contact Prairie Coach (204) 727-2442) to see if they still make stops at Border Services and bringing items back to Brandon. This is a costly option because of brokerage fees that are added to the courier fee, but if you are bringing in a bulky, expensive item it is worth looking into.
