how often . every couple of years ( 20.000/ 50,000 k) or never? flushing? just top up the fluid? moisture corrosion potential? I have read all of the above googling " brake fluid change", I can't get at mine easily for a top up so would have to be professionally done. 2016 Toyota  
I'll probably ask at the dealership but I have a slight paranoia about dealerships a partly thanks to CBC Marketplace. Input greatly appreciated , thanks

A vehicle as new as yours should not need a brake fluid change probably ever. Check levels only. If level goes down then get it checked for leaks.

Change the fluid when you get your brake pads done. I do not agree with brake fluid not being changed ever, brake fluid does break down. 2016 is a 7 year old car.

Brake fluid flushing is part of regular maintenance, but unfortunately most people do not do it. It should be done on average every 50000km. I myself am well over that but am planning on getting it done soon. Over time, the moisture in the brake fluid can corrode the brake lines, causing them to weaken and eventually fail. Imagine driving through the mountains in BC on a hot day and suddenly you have no brakes because your brake fluid is boiling because of all the moisture built up over time. You can buy a tester on Amazon for as little as 20 bucks for peace of mind. It will test the water content in the brake fluid. If it fails it's definitely time to change it. Just search brake fluid tester and you will find a number of them. Don't let anyone tell you that you never need to change it just because they never do and never had issues. As you can imagine having a brake failure can and will be catastrophic. I hope this helps...

I would say to change it. Have you done your brake recently or know if you need your brakes serviced?
