    Where is a good place to pick up packing boxes for moving or are plastic totes a better way to go? It is just for a local move not long distance, we would be doing it ourselves.

    They have packing boxes in all sizes, specialty ones for dishes, pictures etc. they're reasonably priced and you won't have a problem selling them after the fact. I will say though for heavier items such as books, you may want to go totes, I am a fan of the black totes with yellow lids at HD, always found them to be very good quality and strong. Canadian tire has similar ones just with blue lids

    I am looking for the type of boxes that are already flat and you just have to fold out?

    Globe moving and storage sells moving boxes. They come in a few sizes.  
    The large is quite big and heavy duty and can hold a lot of weight.  
    I was able to pack my entire kitchen in 3 boxes.

    CT has them as does Staples but the best place I found was Mini Mall Storage (Westside Storage) on Victoria Ave west. 3 or 4 different sizes of boxes, wardrobe boxes, tape and bubblewrap.

    I find that most places don’t want to give the boxes away anymore they just throw them into the dumpster. Looking to find about half a dozen or more for free if that’s possible anymore?
