anyone done a river cruise to New York City?

Looking to cruise into NYC from maybe 45 minutes to an hour out. Better than trying to drive. I see there are a few options just wondering if anyone has done this and recommendations?

MetroNorth commuter train

Might I suggest an alternative? Consider the MetroNorth Hudson line. Runs from Poughkeepsie, NY to Grand Central Station in Manhattan. Select one of the stations on this line. Park. Buy ticket. Worry-free. Fast and cheap.
