Here's a thought for the kids that started the walmart fire send them out to pick stones for the farmers .

a great idea! However that would make them accountable for their actions and would be considered very cruel to todays society.

Picking stones is definitely a low man totem pole job and not a nice one but not sure how many would want them. If they have no regard for the lives of the workers that might have been still in the store at the time when they set the fire, what might they do to your property? Just stake it out to see what they could steal or burn down next?

a lot of time picking rocks with my dad years ago on the farm. I would love to have him here with us so I could do that again. I agree that those youngsters don’t have an idea of what a hard days manual labour feels like. No accountability for their poor choices and actions these days. Even rapists get out on bail with the “justice system” that we have.

Just a friendly reminder that all accused, including those accused of rape and these kids who are accused of arson, are entitled to their day in court. They are presumed innocent until such time the Crown makes their case and their guilt is judged by either judge or jury. Then, it is up to the system to to impose penalty, restitution, punishment, or some combination thereof.

Troubled!

My thinking is that youths that light fires are very troubled with a bad upbringing. Parents who aren't there to guide their kids or have an addiction problem don't even care about themselves, so what can they do for their kids. No leadership or values for the kids. Therefore these troubled youths don't have any respect for property or anyone else or even think about consequences!
