Driving around the city noticing that the boulevards are have not been mowed for awhile. Just wondering the reason for this. The beautiful flower containers are smothered by long grass. I understand if it’s because of the extreme heat.

I noticed some have been done . But city still looking shabby,  
Another thing at Dinsdale Park the road so many pot holes ruts does the city own a grader ?

Had a friend drop into town and asked if City Parks or whomever looks after boulevards was on strike or if City was short on funds? After he mentioned the boulevard, I really took notice on how bad they were. Victoria Avenue is disgraceful. What’s happening? How come nobody is looking after cutting these boulevards?

Blvds on streets that are considered provincial highways are the responsibility of manitoba highways. it was reported that they failed to put out a tender for a private company to maintain them . Based on that the city was going to do it as it is a eye sore within the city. The plan was to come to an arrangement to compensate the city for these services. It should be noted that unfortunately this is not only a city of brandon issue as the grass between headingly and winnipeg a week ago was over 3 ft high.

So just an idea here but if the City of Brandon can charge homeowners (tax payers) if they do not cut the boulevards in front of their homes and the City of Brandon has to cut it....... could we not do the same and bill the Province?  
It is really making our city look terrible. The weeds are 3 feet tall in places. Come on COB do better!

The City of Brandon use to always mow the provincial boulevards here in Brandon but starting this year they are no longer cutting them. As to why they aren't doing them now, I have no idea. But the province just awarded a contract for the mowing a few weeks ago to a local company, so it shouldn't be long before they are cut.
