snowman5 said "For a family with school aged kids, an "Air B&B" set up/arrangement could work to benefit both households. But dogs? ...I wouldn't allow something like what is suggested. First, the issues of hair/fur in the pool and it's filtration system. Second, unmanageable and unattentive owners allowing their pets to tear up the back yard. (usually folks with pools have a lot invested in plantings surrounding the pool) Third, and most important, DOG NAILS DO A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THE POOL LINER. Clipped or not, the vinyl fabric that makes up the pool can't hold up to the scratching. I know a few pools that had their liners "prematurely replaced" because of a dog. The risk of having the pool being drained in mid summer for patch repairs (which looks like crap and don't last) or spending thousands for a complete replacement, isn't worth the couple of hundred bucks to be made to have strangers in your back yard.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong. "
Yup...I totally understand why people would not want dogs in their pool. Mine are low shedding and an inground pool with stairs would be ideal as I would also be in the pool using the lifejacket to guide them in and out. Now that I know there's lakes close without motorized boats on them, I can go there and not worry about my dogs drinking gas and oil!
