You can catch in the river or head to pelican lake , lake wahtopanah, sandy lake

You can’t catch pickerel here, you can catch walleye though. Plenty in the Assiniboine River, oak lake, out at Rivers, minnedosa, pelican. Pretty much any freshwater river or lake near Brandon has them

What is the difference between Pickerel and Walleye, I've cooked both (ha) and they both look the same, taste the same, and have the same name!

True pickerel are more closely related to the pike family. Walleye, or yellow walleye that we catch here are the largest of the perch family.
While many call them pickerel as a common name, the pickerel and the walleye are not related.
