I'm thinking of starting a swimming pool sharing business in the summer. Just wondering if people in Brandon will be open to it. Where people can book and come swim for a fee.

Anyone who uses that pool is a liability for insurance, let alone “renting” it to strangers. Any injury (or worse) that happens would be the responsibility of the owner and even liability waivers are essentially useless, ask any lawyer. Though the idea is good, society has made it legally impossible to do anything “neighborly”

Not to mention the general public treats pools like giant urinals.

Wouldn't it make any difference if the pool was situated on my private property with all the pool safety signs ,as well as getting insurance to cover all the possible liability and safety issues?

I would pay to have private use of someone’s outdoor backyard pool. It would be fun to rent it for a few hours with friends and have a bbq and pool party.  
 
No idea on how any of the logistics would work for something like this but it’s definitely thinking outside of the box and could be a great little side gig during the summer months depending on the rules.  
 
Cleanliness would be main priority. It would be convenient if there was a washroom for use as well.

I remember reading years ago about a pool in the Valleyview area. It was shared between a bunch of residents like a co-op. Maybe someone with some knowledge about that could chime in and provide some insight as to how that worked.  
 
My niece and nephew take swimming lessons every summer at a pool in Oakbank (they live in Winnipeg) at someone's house that has a pool and basically rents it out for intensive swimming lessons twice a day for a week at at time. They are been doing it for years, and is very coveted (people fight for spots). I have no idea of the logistics of it, but clearly it's possible from insurance etc.  
 
Your best bet would be to go somewhere like Guild and talk to them about insurance for such an endevour. If you're looking at operating this like a business (like an AirBnB kind of idea), you're best talking to the city as well about business permits and what you would need to do.  
 
I'm pretty sure people would be interested, it would just be a matter of finding out what you'd need to do for it be to legal, safe and of good standing.

It’s not worth it. I did it a few times and the mess they made was not worth it. And yes I have the liability issue etc. I’d rather have my pool sit unused
