Door won't open

Since the storm we had earlier in the week the day of the storm the car door would open,then the next day it would not open,then it warmed up and it opened a few times on its own,now it won't open at all, I have tried wD40 and lock de icer,passenger side will open so I enter from passenger side and open drivers door, door was fine before the ice rain,so what is this???

Can you run an extension cord with a hairdryer out to your car and use it to thaw around the doorframe?

Rubber door seals

I'd imagine the rubber door seals have a thin layer of ice holding them to the frame of the cab. Like the other poster said, a hair dryer should thaw them out enough to open the door. Once it's open, run a towel/rag around the seal and door frame to dry off any moisture remaining. Temps are cold enough now that it shouldn't be an issue again once you get it open.

the blow dryer worked ,I did the door frame , the rubber on the door frame and then pulled the handle out and blow dried up and down and sideways and seemed to be
a bunch of moisture coming out of the handle so the whole thing worked and the door is finally opening.
then dried the whole door down with a dry cloth.

Coat the rubber with something like tire dressing and it won’t stick in the future.

If you spray anti moisture lubricants into the door handle heel when you pull back on it , it really helps .
A lot of of spaces in that area where a little moisture can be trapped and cause some headaches .

so the blow dryer worked and drying the door frame as well then the door was opening and closing,for the rest of the day then the next day it would not open again,so today I bought Jigga lub is what the mechanic told me at Canadian Tire,and did what you said and it was opening on its own after so I will see what happens tomorrow morning again lol.

Some people neglect to clean the snow off the roof of the vehicle. This can cause a repeat of the door freezing shut. Some roofs are more difficult to completely de-snow than others. Just a thought.
