OBDii /Pedal Commander question
12/6/2024 at 11:06 AM
Anyone use a Pedal Commander throttle controller on a 2014 Sierra 1500? I'm considering buying one for regular use and when I tow my travel trailer.
I've read a few reviews from users of different truck brands that have had issues with the ECM not recognizing the pedal position and throttle percentage correctly with Pedal Commander, which sends the truck into limp mode until codes are cleared. Anyone have that issue before?
Another question: I would much rather go with a Banks Pedal Monster, as it utilizes the OBDii port to eliminate the ECM issue as it sends proper milliamp voltage amounts in the ECM connection signal. My concern is that I already have a AFM disabler connected to my OBDii so I can disable the pesky AFM issue, which means I'd have to use an OBD splitter for both devices .Now the issue there is that with a Banks Pedal Monster and the idash system analyzer hooked up as well as the AFM disabler, the ECM would only be able to utilize one system, even with a splitter. Is this correct, or has anyone tried using both systems at the same time on a splitter, or am I basically limited to pedal commander( which doesn't seem to use the OBDii on some models, and just connects directly between the pedal sensor control harness?). I really need to keep the AFM disabler on so I can reduce the lifter issue risks,so getting rid of that just isn't an option.
Any advice would be appreciated!
