When you leave your cat at a cat sitter for a month or more they are being fed . watered comforted all the good stuff . Do you think your cat misses you or even notices your gone ?

Definitely! You are all they know. They miss you for sure. When they run to the door and greet you, it's because they have been alone all day and miss you.  
 
In my opinion travellers have 2 choices:  
1. Travel.  
2. Have a pet  
 
It's best not to try to do both.  
I no longer have a cat so it's my time to travel.

And one that's fairly easy to execute, if one is organized. We bring our dogs with us on every vacation we go on and have never had a problem, or found it less enjoyable. But some folks can't make that work and would rather rain on everyone elses' parade with their opinions. This same sanctimonious wet blanket can be found throughout almost every discussion spreading doom and gloom and generally doing their best to heap the misery on others to make their own lives feel better.  
 
Your cats(s) are fine, they miss you and are likely being well taken care of at the sitters. Enjoy your travels, and know they will be eagerly awaiting your return.
