Today might be the first time I've ever heard someone actually speak out about a possible military invasion of Canada but it's been on my mind for some time now. It was implied but was kind of like the elephant in the room. This is a link to a short talk from Charlie Angus and well worth listening to.  

Very unlikely, and next to impossible for that to happen, so best to put that fire out now. First, there are a number of personell in the US forces that have served alongside Canadians over the years who say they would defend the constitution, and not the rule of their leader who is clearly out of his mind, and that invading Canada without provocation of attack would be illegal.  
 
There are also personel that say they would support amd fight alongside Canada before supporting an invasion of it by their own forces.  
 
Let's also look at the economic impact. The US is trying to reduce their spending. Sending troops and equipment to fight in a war that the Allies would be obligated to help defend Canada in if the US were to violate their commitment to NATO would bakrupt the Americans. The amount they would have to spend to repair destroyed infrastructure would be in the trillions. The loss of labour from civilian losses would ruin the economy and their food supply. Then there's the fact that they couldn't concript anyone in a long term conflict because over half of their civilian population is overweight, or too old. No matter how hard someone wants to make a point of the potential of an invasion, it would never happen.  
 
Clearly, Trumplestiltskin would only ever try to ruin us financially, which he is currently trying to do, in order to force annexation without military conflict. What he isn't anticipating is how resilient and resourceful Canadians are, and how much the rest of the world hates Trumps new regime country, so we will find new trade partnerships to offset the loss of US business. Currently though, lets not give up on diplomacy, we are still trying to negotiate with Mango Palpatine first though to sort out this dispute, so we need to look to our diplomatic abilities and trust in them first and foremost. I'm not saying that will be easy, but its the right thing to do and rely on. This will be tough, and we will hurt, but Canada does not give in. Ever.

Plus, if the United States decides to attack Canada, the other NATO countries would concerned that as an attack against them as well. There are 32 nations in NATO right now so Trump would be starting WWIII with Canada plus 30 other nations  
 
Our illustrious X Prime-Minister announced to the world several years ago that Canada would NEVER reach the NATO requirement of 2% of Canada's GDP to go to military spending. The not so illustrious leader of the NDP said the NATO number was arbitrary and too expensive so he would pull out of NATO. Bet there's some scrambling to take those words back.

I hope you are right about Nato but Trump has already said the USA would not protect countries that have not paid 2% of their GDP and he is trying to get Nato to agree to the same. If he gets this reassurance from them, he will be more emboldened to invade us.

We could just secure our borders, clean up our nations drug problem and meet the spending requirements for NATO. Maybe that would keep the bad orange man off our backs. Our government has failed all of us by letting things get as bad as they are.

This is the thing, Trump can't be more emboldened to invade. If the US invades Canada, they would be attacking a NATO country bringing 30 other countries into the conflict. Doesn't matter what Trump says about NATO or even if the USA backs out of NATO. Canada is in NATO and protected by the alliance.  
 
We all know that this isn't going to happen. Trump will attack us economically not militarily.
