Just wondering how ramped the flue is in Brandon. Both my wife and I have it and not pleasant.

I have been sick for almost a month...finally starting to feel like I can do something besides get up, go to work, go home and go to bed. Went to the doctor for another reason and she gave me antibiotics. They helped ease symptoms but didn't cure the problem.

the flue and covid shot on the 22nd of October. Glad we did, as lots have really been ill.

We also got the flu and Covid shots in the fall. Not sure if is working for this strain of Flu

I personally have not had any shots and don't plan on getting any. In the past I have caught something randomly at some point with or without it. I take my chances. There are a variety of bugs going around...some made less severe by the shots others not. I don't usually get sick but this one knocked me out.  
Many I know who have had the shots are still pretty sick. My doctor said this was probably my first bout of Covid but no one tests now. I know I didn't even think about it.

I did test for Covid when I got this nasty bug that’s going around. It was not Covid. I think the flu is just really bad this year. I was sick for a month and then caught it again a month later when one of my kids had it. I do not have a Covid or flu shot this year, but I know people who do and some were even sicker than I was. Maybe they just got it wrong this year with the strains that the flu shot is targeting because it really just seems like an extra awful year with how much it is spreading and how bad it is.  
 
Now just to avoid the stomach bug that also seems to be making the rounds equally as bad right now.

Health Canada and Manitoba Health have websites for respiratory illness surveillance. I'm a nerd, but it's kind of interesting. Lots of data about numbers of illnesses, which types, etc.  
Most of the influenza this year is Influenza A. In Canada, total flu numbers are similar to previous years, but the peak is later this year. Interim estimates show that vaccination for influenza reduced the risk of outpatient illness by about 50%.  
As well as Influenza, Covid and RSV are still going around as well. Those numbers are also similar to the past couple of years. Some people are getting two of the viruses at the same time, which of course makes symptoms that much worse.
