we are amongst many seniors downsizing BUT have too many things for smaller suite SO how do we connect to those who may want to buy some of our excess sets of dishes OR a well-maintained dining room suite??? Coffee & end tables?? Lamps??  
Seems used furniture dealers are now rare & auctioneers  
only do large or specialized items!! Or large lots.  
We are not on social media so that may be a weakness.We realize these items are not used much anymore by " modern" couples though.  
Suggestions appreciated!!!!

They are a non profit organization who takes those type of donations, they'll even come and pick them up.

After my mom passed away, we had to clean out her home, our realtor connected us with them and they were great to deal with.  
 
I can't recommend them enough.

Have you tried posting ads here on Ebrandon? I know a lot of people prefer “older” furniture over the modern stuff.

As suggested place ads on eBrandon classifieds make some extra cash for yourselves.  
Recently we bought several items from a senior couple moving into a suite from their house.  
Everything was reasonable priced and in great condition.  
We couldn’t afford the asking prices in stores for what we bought but we got some nice dishes and furniture pieces that will last for years.  
Try the classifieds first make yourselves some extra money. You could also have a downsizing yard sale .  
 
Then the items that don’t sell you could think about donating at the time you are ready to move.

Try local Prairie Lane Auction. They might take consignments. They probably charge a percentage on sale price. There is also McDougall auction in the east end that run monthly consignments .

There’s a company called transitions that looks after everything from downsizing to selling stuff for you and they take a commission. I know two people that have used it and we’re happy with it. https://transitionsestateservices.com/
