This is not the Manitoba I grew up in.  
 
This event would be traumatizing for those not involved but a witness to it. What a tragedy.  
 
Do we know where in the school it happened? Ex. Classroom, hallway, gym, washroom

I have 2 kids at Neelin. Those details have not been officially released. Maybe the police will comment later today.  
 
Weapons in schools are not new..I remember it happening back in the 90s, and my brother remembers a kid threatening people with a machete. The difference here is that the kid got far enough that someone got hurt.  
 
The lock down drills they do with the kids worked. Everyone knew what do to, and casualties were kept to a minimum and police were able to work. Kudos to BPS for responding so quick.

I was shocked and saddened by this incident. I don't know why kids feel the need to carry weapons and I think it's disgusting that we have gotten to this in our society. Sleepy little Brandon was given a terrible reminder that we are not exempt from the horrors of the world. Wishing that teen a speedy physical recovery and hopefully will get much support in dealing with the aftermath of this situation. And for the offender, I wish we had harsher punishments than the Youth Criminal Justice Act allows. Our entire justice system needs a major overhaul!
