Grackles

I googled "how to discourage grackles in Manitoba Canada" and came up with lots of hits. There is even a thread on ebrandon from back in 2013 and also some ideas on redditt. One common idea is to change the types of feeders you're using but you don't say anything here about feeding the birds so maybe that wouldn't be at all helpful.
When I lived in small town Manitoba quite a few years ago my neighbour would shoot at them and got a few. At the time I found it quite upsetting but they were such a nuisance killing other birds and robbing nests that I could understand why he did it.
I'm sure the above is unlikely to be very helpful to you but I just wanted you to know that someone else understands what you're going through. I've seen a couple in our yard this year but no evidence as yet of any carnage. Good luck.
