Beware, Scammer Lurking on EBrandon Classifields
Jun 13 at 3:35 PM
Beware, there's a scammer on EBrandon pretending to buy things. This is probably nothing new, but it's the first time I've encountered one on EBrandon. It's hard nowadays selling online without scammers trying to steal my money. Most of them are in India. They seem to think it's a legimate job, working for a scam call centre.
First the scammer sent me a personal email address, Sim******ley@outlook.com, to correspond with.
Then they sent this:
Hello, I hope you’re doing well. I’m very interested in purchasing this. Based on the details provided, it seems like a great fit for what I’m looking for. Due to a recent surgery (laryngeal cancer), I’m unable to inspect or collect it in person. However, I have a trusted pickup agent who can handle the collection at a time and location that is convenient for you once the payment has been successfully processed. For a secure and seamless transaction, I’d prefer to proceed with payment via PayPal.
If this arrangement works for you.
Kindly provide the following details so I can initiate the payment:
• Full Name:
• PayPal Email:
• Agreed Price:
• Pickup Address:
• Items Des:cription:
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there are any specific steps you’d like to follow. I appreciate your time and look forward to your response.
Best regards.
