Canadian Sweetheart said "This has been an issue for me as well. Calls from places in Ontario usually looking for the same guy but they've recently started calling and not even saying the guys name. I think they are just hoping someone answers. Seems most of them are a specific debt collection agency.
I also receive so many random calls from random Manitoba answers. One is definitely from Winnipeg and looking for a specific woman (no clue who she is or the guy above is). I never answer any calls unless I recognize the number. Honestly it's tiresome.
The amount of calls I get is wild. We had to change my number once already because of this. The list is extensive and so are the random texts I get from all sorts of numbers. I'm thankful my phone blocks some of the incoming calls and most of the random texts. My phone auto locked one number as is. "
If you have an iPhone and install the latest iOS 26 update, it i:ncludes a new Spam Call feature where Siri can automatically answer incoming calls. The caller will interact with Siri, and you’ll receive text updates asking how you’d like to proceed.
Android devices have a similar feature, but its availability depends on the brand (Samsung, Google, etc.) and your specific OS version. I don’t use Android myself, so someone else might need to chime in with more details. (Look for Call Screening, Spam Protection or Smart Call in your Android Call settings.)
That said, completely blocking spam calls or texts from even appearing on your phone is nearly impossible. Once your phone number or email address ends up in a data breach you’ll continue to receive spam indefinitely. Changing your number or email might help temporarily, but it’s usually only a matter of time before your new information gets sold and the cycle starts all over again.
