If you with bell or rogers you can buy travel packs for a decent price and use your data as you would at home with no roaming charge

I bought a sim card when I arrived in London, it was a lot cheaper than anything from Rogers here.

An easy option for buying an e-sim ahead of time is Airalo, they have good prices - almost as good as buying a card in-person in Europe.

When I travel I find esims very affordable and convenient. It better than trying to get a Sim card upon arrival.

WhatsApp / Face time

We travelled through the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway in September last year, we used WhatsApp and FaceTime. These platforms worked both on land and in the middle of the North Sea. They cost nothing. Just an idea.
In Jamaica the Resort used WhatsApp to communicate with us all the time.
No cost.

It is true that esim is a cheaper option however I like the travel pack option for the reason to have my same phone number and use my phone data and calls the same as I would here at home - if you go for price - yes it is cheaper to get a e sim I believe my travel pack for 14 days Europe was like $55 if I remember correctly

Check out Saily eSim. Very affordable and you can reload as needed. It is country specific but you can get a 3 day sim or 5 day depending on how long your going to be in the country. Then reload to the next country as needed. I think Rogers roaming is like $15/ day which is outrages. Saily is data only so you use WhatsApp or just make your phone calls when in WiFi.

if you don't get the travel pack it is - travel packs are way cheaper - all you do is go online look for the travel pack and add it on - still bit pricier than e sim
