I was stopped at stop sigh franklin and victoria east,I looked right for perdestrians then looked left for cars and pedestrians started to turn right and almost hit a young girl on scooter coming down the sidewalk like a bullet.  
dont know y i looked to the right again ,so please watch for this almost the worst day of my life .

It's my greatest fear...striking a pedestrian. I don't know how it doesn't happen more often. I see people on bikes/scooters ripping down sidewalks and often on the wrong side of the road. And the lack of helmets is even more worrisome! Scary times.

I've made looking both ways ... twice SOP.

No business being on sidewalk.  
 
To follow same rules as vehicles.  
 
Certainly you have to be careful BUT they and pedestrians have to be careful as well.  
 
Why is it so important for you to be right if you are dead.

Obviously nobody wants anybody getting hit. Everybody of all ages needs to aware of their surroundings and do their best in following the rules whether its drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.  
 
A lot of kids have no street sense. Recently on Braecrest and White Swan Street shortly after 5pm , a bunch of kids were cycling and didn't bother stopping at the stop sign at Swan Street. I was a safe distance to see them so I didn't have to slam the brakes etc. but still.  
 
Having said that, pedestrians need to stop using their phones while crossing the street! The button at pedestrian crossings has a purpose. Use it!

A lot of people in Brandon would not do well driving in the downtown area frequently. The amount of times I've almost hit people who have been walking into the street from between cars without looking, or had to stop for pedestrians that just don't care that they are crossing the street on a red light in front of traffic is a daily occurrence. When people ask me why I drive slow in regular traffic, I kindly remind them that it's because the "street trauma" of downtown core driving is a carryover effect. And on the other side of this topic, the amount of times I've almost been T-boned by drivers that seem to forget that red lights at intersections mean "stop" is already at 4 this year, and that's all just from the downtown area between 8th and 11th on Princess. I won't even discuss what happens on Rosser. Pedestrians and drivers need to keep their head on a swivel at all times in this city.
