Was on my benefits plan website and saw where you could look and see all the health care providers across Canada that were not longer considered legit and are not eligible for you to be reimbursed.  
 
Very legimate Health Care Provider professions like counsellors, physio, chiropractor, just to name a few.  
 
curiousity got to me and I had to look. was really surprised at the number on the list that goes back years. Some with different first names but same last names. (seems to run in family). When you dug deeper, ones that kept changing business name but couldn't change their accrediation number unless they moved to another province in some cases.  
 
as benefits plans base payment on accrediation number they are easily tracked.  
 
next step couldn't help myself and looked at Brandon and found more than I like to see.  
 
so be careful unless you know for sure: check if your health plan recognizes that health care provider. Or you are stuck with the bill.  
 
also makes you wonder why they aren't recognized by a health care plan.

Different benefit plans cover different services. Just because a health care provider isn't covered by a particular benefit plan does not mean the provider isn't "legit".

My plan covers everything you can imagine. And I have used services from other professionals not on this.  
 
My point was to check before you get the service in case that particular provider is covered not just the service.  
 
 
I think whatever plan you have there will be this list of professionals that the plan doesn’t recognize
