Regina, SK (CKLQ) – Jared Legien had two goals and an assist to lead the Regina Pats to a 3-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday night.
The Pats fired 61 shots at the Brandon goal on the night, including 22 in each of the first and second periods. It was the first time all year that Brandon had allowed 50+ shots in a game and the first time they have allowed 20+ shots in two periods of the same game.
Matt Bradley chipped in with a goal and an assist as the Pats earned their 20th win of the season and 4th in a row.
The Wheat Kings got goals from Zach Wytinck and Ty Lewis and despite a late push with the goalie pulled, couldn’t draw even.
Despite the loss, Brandon did find the back of the net on the powerplay. Wytinck’s 1st period powerplay goal was the first since Baron Thompson scored on December 13th vs Kamloops.
Logan Thompson finished the night with 58 saves while Tyler Brown kicked aside 28 shots for the win.
Brandon has now dropped four straight games at the Brandt Centre as the home team has won every game of the season series so far. The loss was also Brandon’s fourth in a row.
The Wheat Kings kick off a five game home stand on Friday night when the Swift Current Broncos come to town. (7:00 pre-game show on QCountry Radio)
