Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – Brandonite Bob Edmundson says he is enjoying his time travelling and watching his son – Joel Edmundson – play defense for the St. Louis Blues.
Bob has been to 16 games this year, and was on the annual father trip with the Blue last week travelling to Boston and Buffalo to watch a couple of games.
Joel Edmundson, from Brandon, is playing in his third year with the Blues, and has racked up 15 points in 55 games.
Bob says the annual trip is an eye-opening experience.
"It’s amazing meeting with all these Dads who come from different backgrounds but at the same time have gone through the same challenges." said Edmundson.
He has had a unique situation this year, in-between jobs, going to more games than he thought.
"You never know how long this is going to last, so I figure we might as well make the most of it." said Edmundson.
He plans on going to Friday’s game in Winnipeg, but has no plans to go back as of yet.
"I’m thinking of the Blue limp into the playoffs we’ll head down for the playoffs." said Edmundson.
Last year, Bob was down for Game 1 of the series between the Blues and Wild in Minneapolis.
The game went to overtime and Joel ended up scoring the winning goal.
"I remember it being a surreal experience," said Edmundson.
"Wild fans around us we’re cheering for us even though their team just lost."
