Officers said a suspect wanted in connection for a string of break-and-enter incidents in Winnipeg has been arrested.

Between August 2008 and October 2010, 10 businesses were broken into and cash and merchandise stolen, said police.

On Oct. 1, 2010, officers attempted to arrest the suspect in East Kildonan but he fled and approached a female in a vehicle, forcing her to drive him out of the area and allowing him to escape, said police. The woman was not injured.

Last week, police renewed a call for the public's help in locating the suspect and said he was wanted on two warrants.

On May 10, Michael Victor Mikolajczyk, 30, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of break and enter, two counts of wearing a disguise and a count of kidnapping, said police.

He remains in custody.
