A portion of Rothesay Street will be closed to motorists and pedestrians beginning Monday morning, says the City of Winnipeg. The closed section is from Gilmore Avenue to Donwood Drive.

This closure is part of the Chief Peguis Extension Project and will be in place until September.

Pedestrians travelling north and southbound will have temporary access on the west side of Rothesay St. City officials say in order to ensure people's safety access will be changed as construction progresses and pedestrian traffic will be moved to the east side of the street.

The city says transit routes 11, 85, 40 All Season Express and 41 Henderson Express will be affected and people should call 311 or visit the city's website for more information: Winnipeg.ca/chiefpeguistrail
