On Friday, officials said approximately 50 sailors from the Canadian navy arrived in the Portage La Prairie area to help in flood-relief efforts.
Men and women from the navy reserve were slated to help build up the existing dike system in nearby Poplar Point.
Members of the military have also been busy aiding in flood-fight efforts, working on building up dikes in the Portage la Prairie and Elie areas.
