Investigators in Brandon have determined the cause of a fire last month inside a second-floor boardroom at Brandon University as arson.

Crews battled the blaze on Nov. 28. The fire caused $150,000 damage and smoke ruined all of the supplies in the school's food bank. There were no injuries.

Investigators say someone used a barbeque lighter to set camping gear on fire which was being stored in the room.

The blaze happened just hours after a 45-day strike ended at the university. Police have not made any arrests.
