Our 7-month old Norweigan Elkhound/Lab/Border Collie cross female pup Maple is not the right fit for our family. We have put a lot of training time into this dog (house training, leash training and she knows quite a lot of commands) and we have given her a good puppy life in our home and on our farm, but her herding instinct causes her to want to herd and nip people when excited and we don’t fully trust her with our younger kids. She is very excitable and is still working on her reactivity to ATV’s, other dogs and jumping on people. She’s still young, so if she finds the right home now, she has a lot of potential, especially as a working livestock dog. She would thrive on a good farm/rural acreage with people who have experience with working breeds and the time/energy to train and work with her herding instinct and give her a job to do. She is high-energy, very athletic and super-smart. She could also do well at agility training or flyball. All her vaccinations are up to date. Text for more info.
