David's presentation will offer a review of the provincial park system in Manitoba, with a particular emphasis on the western region. The session will cover the history of provincial parks, their significance, and the many ways that everyone can enjoy the experiences available within these parks throughout the year. Additionally, David will also highlight several lesser-known facts and hidden gems found within the provincial park system.
David Jones is a Park Specialist with Manitoba Environment and Climate Change, working out of Brandon, Manitoba. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Brandon University. In his role, David provides support for park planning and management, infrastructure development, and recreational initiatives throughout provincial parks and protected areas in western Manitoba. Having been born and raised on a family farm in southwestern Manitoba, David has a deep connection to the region. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, pursuing his hobbies, and exploring the natural world.
