Educational Assistant (par-time)
Contract: Term, Part-time (23 hours per week, M-Th 5 hours/ day, Friday 9 a.m. -12 p.m.)
Location: Adult Education Centre ? Killarney/ Boissevain, MB
Effective Date(s): January 19, 2026 (or as mutually agreed) until June 29, 2026
Starting Salary Range: $20.32 to $27.57 plus vacation pay; benefits package available
Position Description:
In Turtle Mountain School Division, the students are the focus of all our efforts. The division strives to provide an education that prepares individuals for a meaningful life in a changing world.
The Adult Education Centres, located in Killarney and Boissevain, MB, provide quality education services to approximately 100 students. The Centre offers a variety of high school courses in both teacher-led and independent learner formats for students enrolled in the Mature Student High School Diploma program and Skill Upgrading Program.
The Educational Assistant is a member of the education support team, providing assistance and support to students. Under the supervision of the Adult Education Director and/or Teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of educational programs. Responsibilities may be academic, social, or related to specific student needs and plans. Day-to-day tasks include consistent modelling of expectations and providing a safe and supportive environment for students. Support for individual students may vary over the course of the school year as needs change.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from Grade 12 or a recognized equivalent.
- Proficiency in writing and speaking the English language.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and collaborate effectively with colleagues and administrators.
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse learners.
- Ability to accept direction and implement goals established by the professional staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Related coursework such as Educational Assistant Diploma Course, Early Childhood Diploma, and/or Education Diploma or Degree.
- Basic computer skills.
