Casual Residential Youth Care Worker

Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba is seeking energetic, reliable individuals to pick-up shifts as casual Residential Youth Care Workers in our group home sector. Shifts include various daytime, evening and/or awake night hours. Duties include but are not limited to: standard youth care responsibilities, driving youth to appointments and school, household cleaning, cooking, or maintenance tasks, participation in staff meetings, and report writing. Applicants without at least one year of post-secondary education are only permitted to pick-up awake night shifts. Wage scale is $17.10 to $18.18 per hour.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of post-secondary education preferred (applicants without a year of post-secondary education are only permitted to pick-up awake night shifts);
- Related experience working with adolescents is a definite asset;
- Valid Manitoba class 5 Driver's license to drive youth to and from school, appointments, etc.;
- Standard First Aid & CPR from an in-person Canadian training institution;
- Working knowledge, understanding & sensitivity for all cultures;

Additional Information:
- Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Records Check (including vulnerable sector), Prior Contact Check, and a Driver's Abstract Check is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for any services charges incurred for the Criminal Record Check; the Agency will pay for the other three security checks.
- Please include three references with your application. Two must be employment-related, one being your current or most recent supervisor. The third can be a personal or character reference. The Agency will not contact your references in advance of an interview.
