Game day thread: Saskatoon @ Wheat Kings, 7 PM
12/2/2009 at 5:06 PM
Saskatoon Blades (20-4-0-3, 1st in Eastern Conference)
Top scorers: Derek Hulak (13+23=36), Walker Wintoneak (14+18=32), Gaelan Patterson (10+16=26), Stefan Elliot (9+17=26)
Top scoring defenceman: Elliot (9+17=26)
Probable starting goalie: Statistically, Steven Stanford (10-3-0, 0.914 save pct, 2.30 GAA) and Adam Morrison (10-3-0, 0.918 save pct, 2.40 GAA) appear to be statistical co-#1's... but I see that Morrison hasn't started since November 14. If Morrison is healthy, I suspect he's due.
Manitobans: Walker Wintoneak (Flin Flon), Charles Inglis (Winnipeg)
at Brandon Wheat Kings (17-11-0-2, 4th in Eastern Conference)
Top scorers: Brayden Schenn (13+28=41), Matt Calvert (18+21=39), Jay Fehr (12+23=35), Scott Glennie (12+21=33)
Top scoring defenceman: Colby Robak (6+19=25)
Probable starting goalie: Going to guess Andrew Hayes (12-8-0-1, 0.900 save percentage, 2.91 Goals against average), who's fared quite well against the Blades in who starts so far this year.
Sorry for my tardyness with today's thread. Been a bit under the weather and despite being all over the World Junior thread, completely forgot about this one.
Despite the red-hot start the Blades are off to, the Wheat Kings could move to within five points of them for first place in the Eastern Conference standings with a regulation win tonight.
Tonight is rain check night, which normally makes for a large and boistrous crowd.
Would be great to hear folks' thoughts pre and post-game.
Scratches and lineups will be posted shortly.
