With Brandonites Ryan White and Alex Plante having already made their NHL debuts this season, a third local hockey player has been called up by the Montreal Canadians and could make his NHL debut Saturday against Pittsburgh.
Trotter is in his second AHL season, a breakout year that has him fourth in league scoring with 25 goals and 53 points. He's been on fire since the start of December with 20 goals and 34 points in 26 games.
Trotter would become the 30th Brandon player to play in the NHL.
Ryan White, who made his debut earlier this season, was also called up to the injury-depleted Canadiens.
