A look at Wheat King players traded this season
2/11/2010 at 12:30 PM
With this season being a little different when compared to your average year, the Wheat Kings found themselves trading many more young players than they may have in the past. Below is a quick look at how each player traded has been doing statistically with their new teams....
Brendan Rouse. Traded for Jacob Deserres. 4 goals, 14 assists in 44 games with Seattle. Started off with a bang with 3 goals, 9 assists in his first 13 games but has since fallen off.
Jordan DePape. Traded to Kamloops for Shayne Wiebe. 8 goals, 9 assists in 24 games with the Blazers. Like Rouse, started off with a bang with a hat trick in his first game but has continued his respectable rookie season. I expect he will be a very good WHL player.
Klarc Wilson. Traded to Edmonton in Brent Raedeke deal. 2 goals, 6 assists in 19 games with Edmonton. Hard to judge anyone by their stats as a 16 year old, but Wilson will continue to get the opportunity to develop into an impact WHL player.
Dallas Ehrhardt. Traded to Moose Jaw in Travis Hamonic deal. Pointless in five games so far. His role isn't likely to be one that will show up in stats.
Wheat King fans will no doubt continue to follow their careers as they develop in order to get a sense for just how much it cost to build a Memorial Cup contender.. although the jury will be out for quite some time until it's known what Moose Jaw was able to do with the draft picks acquired in the Hamonic deal.
