Wheat Kings overagers
8/30/2010 at 10:46 AM
With many WHL training camps already underway and the Wheat Kings set to hit the ice this week, it may still be hard to believe but we're only days away from the annual Black & Gold intrasquad game and just 3 1/2 weeks away from the 2010-2011 home opener.
Between now and that time, perhaps the hardest decision that'll have to be made is who to keep as the team's three overage players.
Players from last year's team that will be 20 and not expected to play pro just yet include:
Shayne Wiebe (F)
Jordan Hale (F/D)
Mark Schneider (D)
Darren Bestland (D)
Jacob De Serres (G)
Andrew Hayes (G)
New to the WHL as a 20-year old:
David Toews
20-year olds expected to play pro:
Brent Raedeke (at last word, this was likely but not a 100% sure bet)
Colby Robak
Alexander Urbom
Travis Hamonic
Which three players do you feel are most likely to be on the 2010-2011 Wheat Kings come Sept 24 and then October's overage deadline?
