RIMMER DEALT TO COUGARS
Brandon, Manitoba – The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 18-year old netminder Ty Rimmer has been traded to the Prince George Cougars for a 6th round pick in the 2012 Bantam Draft. An 18-year old Edmonton product, Rimmer appeared in four games with the Wheat Kings this season. Chosen by the Wheat Kings in the 14th round of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft, Rimmer was 2-2-0 with a 2.77 goals against average and a .902 save percentage this season. Monday’s trade leaves the Wheat Kings with two 17-year old rookie goalkeepers on their active roster – Liam Liston and Corbin Boes. The Wheat Kings will continue a stretch of eight straight road games this Wednesday night when they meet Rimmer and the Cougars in Prince George.
